oblivious people begone!!
oblivious people. they are those who think everything revolves around them. doesn't matter if there are people all around. what matters is only they themselves. we see this every day. take starbucks. a place I frequent. wish I had stock in starbucks. wished that 5 years ago. should've bought it then. now I wish I had stock in whole foods. but let's get back to oblivious people. ok, here's the drill. your friendly barista hands you your coffee. you zip over to the mixing counter and complete your coffee any which way you want. but the counter is sizable. there are usually 2 sets of cream/milk. so why would you stand in the middle? it's not as if there are no other customers. a line starts to form behind you. but you're completely oblivious. oblivious that you're in everyone's way. you don't have to taste your coffee to get it just right. alright, if you have to, move to a corner! well, I usually won't wait. just put on my sweet smile and say excuse me. even though inside I'm cursing at what a self-important prick you are. another thing about standing right smack in the middle, is I'd have to reach over you to get my sugar/napkin/stirrer. or try not to throw my trash into your drink, as the trash can is always located in the middle. I wouldn't mind waiting if it isn't the morning rush hour. aw come on! try not to be so oblivious. notice that people are waiting. maybe they do notice but do not care. like another thing that happens often in boston.
waiting for your al fresco dining seat. crowds spill onto the pavement, making it hard for pedestrians to get by. if you weren't so oblivious or should I say conceited, you would make sure you're not in everyone's way! the worst is when there is a sizable buildup because a group of 3 or 4 oblivious people are creating a bottleneck by spreading across the sidewalk. in this instance, at least 1, if not 2 of the members of that said group should be aware of the nuisance they are because they are actually facing the line of pedestrians trying to squirm pass. but they can't be bothered to move their friends away, to let people through. what pricks!! maybe they are so preoccupied with what they would be ordering, or too busy primping to notice. ok, I'm calling these jerks oblivious just in case they really fail to notice how inconsiderate they are. but even so, not noticing just shows how self-absorbed they are. it really doesn't take much to avoid inconveniencing others. really!!
