sorry no entry!
that's what happened to drM at the jordan border. actually, it is TDM now huh. ok ok. yup! malaysia has no diplomatic relations with israel. that is why our passports are not valid for entry into israel. it used to state south africa and israel but that changed after the abolishment of apartheid. many islamic countries do not recognise israel as a legal state. the full list of countries with bilateral relations can be found here. on top of that TDM announced to the whole world just what he thinks of the jews just before stepping down - 'rule by proxy'. of course that attracted a ton of international press. I wonder if there was any ruckus raised over this in israel. I mean, malaysia is a very small country and they could have missed it? TDM is very responsible for putting us on the map in many ways. the point is, it is not surprising that he was refused entry because there are no diplomatic relations between the 2 countries. but could it be that they recognized his name/face or title, if he gave any, that triggered their memory of that infamous 'rule by proxy' phrase? or did TDM not apply for the visitor's visa. or just because they didn't feel like it like what happened here. anyway looks like our TDM is still making waves internationally.
