the rude americans
the pope's funeral. many of us would like to attend. except prince charles of course. he would like to get married. that was pretty funny. I can imagine him getting all huffed and puffed up saying - I don't care! I'm getting married regardless! heh heh. anyway, we all know he is attending the funeral. that's all fine and dandy. then we look at the americans. I'm sorry, we have limited space available for you. 5 to be exact. so pres. carter says, fine, I'll withdraw my intention to attend. so who is going? the bushes, clinton, bush sr and condi. hmm... condi or laura could give up their place for carter. I'm a woman, so I can say that! wouldn't it be better to send 4 presidents? sure, condi is the diplomat for the US, but does that really matter? the white house is emphasizing that carter withdrew his intent on his own. but obviously that was after they told carter space was limited. tsk tsk. and don't forget the democratic media. they do have to hype this up! this is where the real rudeness comes in. the media nonchalantly says - what is the big deal? just ask for another seat! ask for another seat??!! how rude!! it is bad enough that they keep harping on this ridiculous issue. really, you think this cat fight is worth all that hype? and on top of that, just ask for another seat?!!! wtf!!! everyone wants to go to pay their respects to the pope. who are the americans to ask for more seats?!! I just can't believe it! to think that exceptions should be made for the great americans. the media should just shut their trap! we get it! white house snubs democratic president carter for his remarks on the iraq war. no need to fuel this non-controversy that only mars the pope's funeral. compared to this embarrassment, prince charles' faux pas is not bad at all!
