read the boston globe mag this sunday. got to admit it's one lousy mag, especially compared to the new york times mag. yes, it's revamped, so that it looks more like the new york times one, but that is where the similarity ends. oh wait, they're technically from the same company.

anyway, point is, there was an article about the local tv weather forecasts. didn't actually read the piece but i think i got the gist of it. how any possibility of snow results in endless teasers about the actual forecast. i really hate how sensationalized the news is around here. can't say how it is in the other states, but here is boston, it's pretty sad. isn't news just news? i want the new york times version of the news. not tabloid articles. endless teasers, not just those about the weather. e.g. coming up at 11... how this and that causes cancer... how this and that can ruin your life. give me a break!! just out with it!

actually, this happens on cnn too. i actually watch anderson cooper when i happen to need something to occupy my attention when i'm doing something else. yes, yes, it's tragic. i can't sit and eat, or cut my nails, or sort through the mail without doing something else at the same time. they probably have some kind of quasi-scientific word for people like me. get home, switch on the tv. get in the car, switch on the radio. i wonder if it'll kill me not to have things happening in the background. but when i'm on vacation, it's ok. hmm.....

anyway back to anderson cooper 360. funny thing is i actually watched the 1st season of the mole! so i remember him from back then. he's pretty personable. the white hair suits him well. it's white right? not platinum blonde or whatever. anyway, i also get irritated when he does the teaser bit. i mean, i'm already watching your darn show. why would you need to tell me every 10 mins that you're going to give me excLuSives :rollseyes: about martha stewart or michael jackson or paula zahn even. seriously that really reeks of the tabloids. not just the teasers, but the actual sensationalized bit of "news" that he's hyping up.

when i was back home, i re-discovered the "berita terkini" that is like a 3 minute bleep that happens every 3 hours or something. it's refreshingly straight to the point. no extraneous sensationalized teasers... i really shoudn't let it affect me. so many little things irk me. i have a problem.....
