prominent blogger

a prominent blogger blew her top at another not so prominent blogger the other day. well, this prominent blogger is well known for ranting and raving. step on her toes and she'll make sure everyone knows about it. she has taken on the big ones with satirical stories. the pinky story was a riot! she definitely has a knack for writing satire.

I thought pinky's account of kl was truthful albeit dripping with disdain. maybe pinky should have more tact but blaming tourists for being clueless is absolutely ridiculous. here we are trying to sell ourselves as a truly asian paradise and yet we call the tourists dumbf**** for getting cheated? how should I promote malaysia? should I tell my foreign friends that it is a lovely country but please don't take a cab. please don't go to just any old public restroom. we love having tourists but we're also out to get you. don't say it's their own fault. you can't expect them to do more than read lonelyplanet. it doesn't do us any good to sweep all the embarrassing things under the rug. anyway, pinky is pinky and she should be able to take it like pinky.

this prominent blogger also wrote another piece regarding ungrateful malaysians. she seems to love malaysia and all its flaws, rather than inspite of it. she may be pacified if you add a disclaimer after bitching about malaysia. something like 'but I still love malaysia' at the end. something like how the southerners get away with insulting anybody and anything by just adding 'bless his/her heart' at the end of the insult. such as 'the bride has the face of a horse, bless her heart...' you probably need a jehnuwine southern accent though.

anyway, those jabs were humourous and I viewed them as jibes. but I was puzzled at the last hammering of a seemingly innocent blogger. he was just asking her to share her experience. give him some pointers about his blog. what warranted her barrage of insults? after all, she doesn't seem to have any problems telling others how to blog better in their comment boxes. why not give him her 2 cents when it is actually asked for? what's wrong with trying to be good at your hobby? it's obvious she thinks very highly of her opinions on blogs. all hail the queen! please approve of my blogging. after all the talk about privileges and rights, what am I supposed to make of that post? it was a personal attack, and definitely no laughing matter. forget about tact! it wasn't even civil. and the overblown arrogance was just plain ugly. now, did I just step overstep my privileges? oh wait, I don't enjoy such privileges.
