haze - why the blase reaction?

all that haze covering malaysia. but I'm all the way over here in sunny boston. clear skies. beautiful day. not even the slightest hint of haze. can't imagine being shrouded in haze. like standing behind the satay fire? was already in the states before the recurring haze problems, so I never had to suffer through the haze. why so much haze? corruption corruption. it all boils down to money. malaysian companies, indonesian companies, they're all the same. whatever it is, it is still the lack of law enforcement. lack of manpower or lack of willpower? but don't forget the special permits for special people. you know the drill. but when it results in such widespread madness shouldn't there be more outrage? where are the environmentalists? 1000 fires burning! slash and burn agriculture! where is the international censure? such blatant poisoning of the atmosphere and yet it looks like it will just blow over. you can also pray for a change in direction of the winds in addition to the rain.
