Woo hoo!!!! Year of the monkey!! It has been a long long time since I last celebrated Chinese New Year. You know with all the traditional food, rituals, decorations..... I wanna go home!! Anyway, we actually had a 'grand celebration' in lab where all the chinese ppl brought food. I brought scallion pancakes!! heheheh That was coz one of my vegetarian colleagues pestered me to make it. It took soooo long..... Like 3 hrs total. But...I did have time for an expedited 'spa' session pre-CNY. Right now I'm all full from the yummy delicacies but I'd like to hear some really loud firecrackers right about now. It's the doldrum 3-4pm time. Actually managed to 'overhear' loads of fireworks/firecrackers when I called home yesterday. Yup yup, the police will usually ignore the occasional firecracker during CNY. Hmm....another tradition that I kinda follow, you know just for the heck of it is the new clothes thingy!! heheheheheh But my new outfits didn't really match coz I'm a clearance squared rack kinda person. And also this new pair of jeans not making me look too hot coz they are accentuating my short legs. hehehehheh But hey I'm wearing kinda maroon/crimson top, so that has to count for something. And new socks!!! I was so bz making the scallion pancakes yesterday (it was my 1st time! yikes!!) that I forgot to shift my stuff to my new backpack. No, no, I'm not that err...traditional. Just happened to buy a new bag last month. hmm.... well, pretty good start to the new years! My pancakes were gone in a jiffy!! heheheheh Even got a couple of requests for recipes. What can I say, I CAN follow recipes!! kekekekekke
